Apple Joins the Foldable Race
Apple is finally coming to the foldable phone market. Rumors suggest the device will launch in late 2026. Experts believe this launch will hugely boost the entire foldable category. The new phone will likely be called the iPhone Fold. This device will not be a small clamshell model. Apple plans a “book-style” design instead.
Design and Display
The iPhone Fold will feature two screens. When closed, you see the outer display. This screen measures around 5.5 inches. When you open the device, it becomes a large tablet. This inner screen will be about 7.8 inches wide. It offers an iPad-like experience in your pocket.
Apple wants to fix a major problem of current foldables: the screen crease. Reports say Apple engineers are working hard to make the crease invisible. They use titanium and a liquid metal alloy for the hinge. This design should offer high durability and a smooth fold.
Cameras and Internal Specs
The new phone needs top performance. It will run on Apple’s latest powerful A-series chip. This chip should offer major speed and efficiency gains. The iPhone Fold might use a dual-camera system on the back. Both sensors could be 48 megapixels.
The phone will likely skip Face ID. Engineers chose a side-mounted Touch ID sensor instead. This choice saves space and keeps the phone thin. It also allows for an under-display camera on the inner screen. This camera is rumored to be 24 megapixels.
Price and Connectivity
The iPhone Fold will be Apple’s most expensive phone. Analysts predict a starting price between $2,000 and $2,500. This high price reflects the new, complex technology.
